Here you can find our technical documentation, mainly intended for developers. If you are looking for information on installation and/or usage, please go to the Documentation Wiki!

This documentation is split in two parts: The NTFS documentation and the LDM documenation.

The NTFS documentation

The NTFS documentation shows the on-disk format of an NTFS volume. Microsoft Windows NT, 2000 and XP use NTFS, a filesystem resembling a database.

NTFS documentation v0.5 is available in the following formats:

The LDM documentation

The LDM documentation shows the on-disk structure of the Logical Disk Manager database. Windows 2000 and XP use the LDM to support Dynamic Disks which allow the creation of Striped, Spanned, Mirrored and RAID5 volumes. The partitioning scheme is held in a database at the end of the physical disk.

LDM documentation v0.5 is available in the following formats:

  • One big HTML file.
  • Several small HTML files, split by chapters.
  • PDF (for printing)
